17-18 award winners

The North Central Hockey League has announced its year end award winners.

Jory Mullin of the Swan Valley Axemen was voted the league’s most valuable player and will receive the Doug Harrison Memorial Trophy. Mullin also won the top scorer trophy with 24 goals and 23 assists in 15 games.

The league’s goaltending award went to the Miniota-Elkhorn C-Hawks duo of Cory Gardham and Ian Oliver. The pair allowed just 60 goals in 16 games for a 3.75 goals against average.

Tanner Lewis of the Virden Oil Kings was voted rookie of the year, while Dillin Stonehouse of Miniota-Elkhorn was named the top defenceman.

The Darryl Brown Memorial Trophy, recognizing the most gentlemanly player, was won by Derek Falloon of the Russell Rams.
